Hedgehog Technologies has been honored by two industry events focused on sustainability and we couldn’t be more thankful to the organizations involved. The recognition we received at these events underlines our unwavering commitment to making a meaningful impact in the field of sustainable technologies.
In this event roundup, we’ll take a closer look at our impact at two events: Electricity Transformation Canada and the Engineers and Geoscientists BC Innovation in Sustainability Awards.
Electricity Transformation Canada
Electricity Transformation Canada, held on October 21, was a pivotal moment for our team. They played a significant role in the event, with the unveiling of the Great Canadian Electrical Map by Electricity Human Resources Canada and Canadian Geographic. This interactive map is an invaluable resource for understanding Canada’s electrical workforce and promoting the industry to an upcoming generation.
Hedgehog Technologies was prominently featured in five career profile videos during the event, including two videos on our sustainable solutions in Fort Severn and Haida Gwaii. These videos not only showcased the diverse and talented team behind our company but also highlighted the critical role they play in the Canadian electrical industry. The videos provided insights into the various roles and responsibilities within Hedgehog Technologies, offering a glimpse into the exciting careers available in our industry.
Here is where to watch the career profiles.
EGBC Innovation in Sustainability Awards
On Friday, October 29th we achieved a significant milestone at the Engineers and Geoscientists BC Innovation in Sustainability Awards. Hedgehog was honored with the Innovation in Sustainability Award, recognizing our microgrid controller and solar solution for Harrison Hot Springs Elementary which had been experiencing blackouts.
The accompanying video, featuring Younes Rashidi, Vice President of Engineering Operations, provided a glimpse into the integration of solar energy at Harrison Hot Springs Elementary. The transformation of this school exemplified the potential of solar energy, both in terms of sustainability and cost-efficiency. This was made possible by our in-house development of the Nimba Microgrid Controller. This innovative controller manages energy during times of blackouts and other utility events such as peak shaving. Nimba not only enhances energy reliability during emergencies but also contributes to grid stability.
Furthermore, the Innovation in Sustainability Award acknowledges Hedgehog’s mission to drive change and foster a more sustainable future. Through our cutting-edge projects, Hedgehog Technologies continues to lead the way in making the electrical industry more sustainable and environmentally responsible.
We’d like to extend our heartfelt thank you to Engineers and Geoscientists BC and Electricity Human Resources Canada for recognizing our sustainable efforts. We also want to deeply thank everyone who was involved in the project that led to this moment.
