Electrical engineers play a crucial role in the effort of decarbonizing existing part 3 buildings which creates a more sustainable future. Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) held their fifth event of their webinar series, this one focusing on Electrical Engineering Considerations in Decarbonizing Existing Part 3 Buildings, providing valuable insight for those in the industry.
The event was co-presented by Dr. Michael Wrinch, founder of Hedgehog Technologies and Sofia Marmolejo, Energy Efficiency Engineer at FRESCo Building Efficiency.
Dr. Michael Wrinch covered planning and solutions at the infrastructure level. This included a holistic overview of decarbonizing buildings including LED upgrades, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, heat pump additions, and non-wire alternatives. Attendees were able to learn about best practices and lessons learned from real-world projects, and hear the presenters’ short-term outlook on the market and policy landscape.
The webinar was a success that informed local industry professionals about the process of decarbonizing existing part 3 buildings. If you missed it, be sure to check out https://www.egbc.ca/ or future events.
