In partnership with AIMS International, the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) hosted AIMS SafeConnect 2023. Hedgehog Technologies presented at the safety conference with two educational sessions to highlight safety initiatives for amusement parks.
What is AIMS SafeConnect?
In partnership with AIMS International, AIMS SafeConnect is a safety training event that takes place at the Pacific National Exhibition, the location of Playland. It offers industry-leading certification through an exciting in-person experience. Participants have the opportunity to learn from esteemed speakers, experienced trainers, and the leading professionals in the industry.
Along with sponsoring the event, Hedgehog Technologies presented two topics at the event including:
Amusement Ride Modifications
Presented by Erin Martin-Serrano, Director of Business Development, and Matthew Keeler, Senior Electrical Engineer
- The session covered ASTM F24 standards for modification of amusement rides. Attendees learned about the process and necessary paperwork so both maintenance and operations staff can understand the standard and follow best practices in the industry.
Restraint Design & Risk Assessment
Presented by Derek Puzzuoli, Senior Mechanical Engineer
- This session covered ASTM F24 standards for restraint considerations in amusement park operations. Derek presented different types of restraints used on amusement rides and the specific requirements for each type as outlined in the ASTM F24 standards. The session also discussed the importance of regular inspections, maintenance of restraints, and the documentation required to demonstrate compliance with the standards.
Thank you to AIMS International and the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) for allowing us to share our expertise to the community. We look forward to the event next year. To learn more about AIMS SafeConnect, or to stay up-to-date for future conferences, visit their website.
