We are looking for a Business Developer with experience in the B2B consulting environment or a desire to learn this specialty. You will work with the company principal to identify opportunities and prospect. You will contribute to existing business development programs, assist in developing new initiatives aligned with the company and client goals. You will be working with the principal to execute the company business development strategy and tactics. There is plenty of room to grow this role within the organization.

REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities

  • Take charge and control of everyday business development efforts
  • Grow sales volume and close new business
  • Conduct outreach activities and develop new sales opportunities
  • Convert marketing leads into paying clients
  • Own the sales pipeline and sales CRM
  • Prepare proposals and sales agreements for review and approval by the principal
  • Ensure long term client satisfaction
  • Develop repeat business opportunities
  • Act as an account manager for key accounts as assigned by the principal
  • Continuously improve the selling process and tactics
  • Attend trade shows and support other marketing programs as required
  • Investigate market opportunities and effects on the market for present service offerings
  • Become knowledgeable regarding the company’s product/service offerings, how they work, the value they can bring to a client’s operation and how they can be implemented
  • Develop and implement account sales strategies for key clients
  • Update and maintain sales activities and notes in HubSpot CRM
  • Identify, develop and evaluate ideas and suggestions for new services while analyzing and interpreting market conditions in existing and potential markets.
  • Identifying and executing improvements for processes, content, and lead generation
  • Collaborate with internal teams for new ideas and business development strategies
  • Coordinate business development efforts with the principal

Minimum qualifications

  • Diploma or higher in a Business related field
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated success in large account / complex sales
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a B2B sales environment
  • Knowledge of inbound sales, and service
  • Familiarity with social media
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Motivated and hungry sales professional looking to prove yourself

Preferred qualifications

  • Proven business development and market assessment experience for engineering consulting companies
  • Familiarity using Hubspot

The candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Read, review and update electrical drawings and schematics
  • Provide creative solutions relating to assembly of components and industrial electrical systems in non-standard configurations or applications
  • Build and install electrical panels and equipment
  • From time to time supervise the fabrication and installation of electrical panels and equipment
  • Work on a production line assembling and testing electrical components and sub-assemblies as part of a manufacturing team
  • Assist in the creation of test procedures and completing test reports
  • Participate in and perform test procedures
  • Test, troubleshoot, commission and perform acceptance-tests for new and upgraded electrical equipment installations
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and procedures
  • Provide exceptional and responsive customer service to our clients
  • Other duties as they may be required

The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics, skills and experience:

  • Extensive practical hands on field experience, preferably in an industrial setting
  • Be quality focused with a meticulous attention to detail, having demonstrated an ability to create accurate, safe, neat, maintainable installations (photos of past work would be helpful)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently when required, but also as part of a team to build and commission electrical panels and components in a fast-paced industrial setting often on very tight schedules
  • Have experience in low and medium voltage environments
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve in real time
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the engineering design team to improve component design and manufacturability of panels and equipment
  • Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with subcontractors, possibly overseeing subcontractor’s work
  • Have an eagerness to learn new skills and technologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering Technology from a recognized institution and/or comparable relevant experience
  • Red Seal Industrial Electrician Certification, or nearing completion of this certification
  • ASTTBC registration or eligibility
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Familiar with the Canadian Electrical Code and other international codes
  • Available for occasional travel
