Hedgehog Technologies and the Fort Severn First Nation (FSFN) were honored with two awards at the 2022 CCE Awards in Ottawa, Ontario. We proudly accepted an Award of Excellence and Engineering a Better Canada award for the Fort Severn Solar Array project.
In collaboration with the Fort Severn First Nation, Hedgehog completed a 300-kW solar array to help the remote community move towards carbon neutrality. The FSFN has a vision of off-setting their usage of diesel-based generators in favour of clean energy alternatives such as solar.
The awards, co-organized by Canadian Consulting Engineer (CCE) and ACEC-Canada, recognizes outstanding projects across Canada. We compiled a full recap of the event.

Hedgehog attended the National Leadership Conference organized by ACEC-Canada. The two-day event brought the consulting engineer community together to share ideas about the future of sustainability and offer networking for industry stakeholders.
We attended a session called Major Shifts in the Consulting Engineering Sector. The keynote speakers discussed the future of Canadian engineering from shifting global forces and the trajectory of engineering over the next 5-10 years. It is refreshing to hear industry leaders come together to share their insights in a collaborative environment.
