This week, two of our electrical technologists John Hagerman and Jarred Richter took the stage to present as former students of the Electrical & Computer Engineering Technology (ECET) program to first year students.
The topics covered involved how to navigate a career in engineering after graduation, including landing a job and getting promoted within the company. The presentation included project case studies and what it takes to be the best engineering professional in their field.
The session wrapped up with a vibrant Q&A session that extended much beyond our speaking time. We love the enthusiasm of first year students! Other groups were in attendance as well including BC Hydro and Canadian Coast Guard.
Mentorship is a valuable tool for shaping young minds to pursue the career of their dreams. Thank you to John and Jarred for spending an evening with students to impart your experiences.
