On June 3rd, join the first Small Firms Council – Member and Regulator Roundtable. The event will highlight the new Permit to Practice issued by Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
Hosted by Hedgehog’s Director of Business Development Erin Martin-Serrano, in conjunction with ACEC-BC, will facilitate a discussion around the steps for firms to complete the Permit to Practice along with case-studies highlighting the benefits of this regulatory change.
The roundtable will address questions such as what to do with the OQM branding on existing drawings? How large of an expense to move over? How long before the firm has to move?
What is the Permit to Practice?
Our Small Firms Council identified that smaller firms, some of whom have little or no experience with Permit to Practice in Alberta, may benefit from the opportunity to connect with each other and the regulator prior to the start of the program.
Starting in July, any firms practicing engineering or geoscience will be required to hold a Permit to Practice through EGBC. There are some questions surrounding the regulatory changes and the roundtable is an opportunity to have these questions answered for small to medium-sized firms.
Who is attending?
Hedgehog’s Director of Business Development Erin Martin-Serrano will be hosting along with two guest speakers:
- Peter Mitchell, P.Eng., Director, Professional Practice, Standards and Development
- Kelly Dayman, P.L.Eng., Associate Director, Regulation of Firms
Please register your firm’s representatives before Wednesday, June 2. If you have questions in advance of the event please contact ACEC-BC.
